It’s undeniable: Detroit is a sandwich town. But with all the great sandwiches available within city limits, it’s not easy for new sandwiches to get lunch-goers’ attention. Until recently.
Many new restaurants in Detroit have recently challenged Detroiters’ conceptions of delicious food. Nicole Rupersburg of Thrillist compiled these newcomers’ contributions to the sandwich scene, deeming them “already Detroit classics.”
Included on Thrillist’s list of new best sandwiches in Detroit is Dime Store’s PBLT: crispy pork belly, tomato, arugula, and spicy mayo on white toast.
It’s “definitely not your grandparents’ BLT,” writes Nicole. If the traditional BLT is “the Old Fashioned of sandwiches,” she continues, then Dime Store’s PBLT “is the bacon-infused bourbon Old Fashioned of sandwiches.”
Stop by Dime Store today to try the PBLT. And thanks, Nicole, for including it on your list: 15 New Sandwiches that are already Detroit Classics. We’re honored… and hungry for a sandwich!
